The Council Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government Area in Ogun state, Hon. Adebayo Ayorinde says his administration will operate an open-door policy, and give all residents of the local government, a sense of belonging.
He also said his administration will stay committed to fast-tracking projects that are people oriented.
Ayorinde made the assertion when addressing newsmen in his Akomoje office, Abeokuta, on Tuesday.
He said his administration would carry everybody along irrespective of political affiliation, saying this would help move the local government forward.
“Let me be frank with you, if one is truly desirous of making things work here, you have to make sure you are accessible to everyone. You have to keep your doors open to every one, because no one is insignificant in the scheme of things.”
“We are going to run an open administration that will welcome constructive criticisms aimed at moving the council forward. Our people should be able to talk to us as we have been duly elected to protect their interest. My doors are open to anyone, regardless of political affiliation, region or class. My business here is to ensure that our people at the grassroots get the dividends of democracy.
“As we speak, we are close to setting up a website for the local government and this will be made public very soon. The idea is to ensure that we get necessary feedback from the people on our performances to be able to identify what we’re doing right and what needs to be done better.”
Ayorinde further stated that he would hinge the development policies of his administration on the needs of the people.
He also vowed to anchor his administration on qualitative, credible and human oriented leadership.
“This administration will empower the people, most especially the youths. We would ensure the communities get exactly what they need, and not misplace their priorities.
“We would vigorously pursue projects that will enhance and uplift the welfare, wellbeing and living standard of our people.” he assured.
