Ahead of the council polls in Ogun state, Baales in the 16 wards of Abeokuta North local government area have thrown their weight in support of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the local government, Prince Adebayo Abdul-Salam Ayorinde.
The Baales pledged their support for Ayorinde at a meeting held at the residence of a party chieftain, Alh. Fatai Bodunrin on Friday.
Party leaders on the entourage of the chairmanship candidate include, the transition committee chairman of the LG, who also doubles as the Chairman of the campaign committee, Prince Tunde Tella, his Vice, Hon. Ibrahim Okedara, the Director General of the Ayorinde Campaign Committee, Hon. Wale Bello, Chief Ahmed Taiwo, the Vice chairmanship Candidate, Ayoola Oluajo, Hon. Monsuru Abioye among others.
The Baales who promised to mobilize support for the party’s flagbearers, however appealed for the due recognition and promotion of the traditional institution in the local government.
While presenting the chairmanship candidate to the Baales, Alh. Fatai Bodunrin reiterated his faith in Ayorinde, saying he would not disappoint them; as they are important in the administration of the local government.
While presenting his manifesto to the community heads, Ayorinde promised to interface with the Baales regularly. This he said would help him identify the peculiar needs of each community and address them accordingly.
He also promised to consolidate the good works of the transition committee, led by Prince Tunde Tella.
