A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has urged Muslims in the state and other parts of the country to stay steadfast in prayers at this period.
In a statement released by his media office in Abeokuta, the state capital, Isiaka reiterated the need for Muslims to use this period to pray towards defeating the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which has taken a heavy toll on the people’s spiritual, social and economic lives.
GNI affirmed that “We must not lose our faith. We must stay steadfast in prayers. We must not be shaken. We should remain hopeful as good Muslims. Incidences like this come to test our faith but we must not give up”.
While wishing Muslims happy Eid celebrations, he assured that humanity would eventually stand tall in the fight against the coronavirus disease.
This year’s Eid festivities are held on a low-key, due to social distancing safety protocols.
