The All Progressives Congress Chairmanship (APC) candidate in Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun state, Prince Adebayo Abdul-Salam Ayorinde has appealed for the support of aspirants in the primary election, saying that all hands must be on the deck for the continued progress of the local government.
Ayorinde also urged the loyalists of other candidates in the race to work for his candidature in the July 24th elections.
The Abeokuta North APC flag-bearer made the appeal in a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital over the weekend.
According to him, now that the primary elections have been conducted, it was necessary for all to come on board and support the party’s choice in the overall interest of the party and local government.
He said “At the conclusion of the primary election preparatory to the forthcoming local government elections, I have been inundated with several reports of grievances among members of our party in our local government, Abeokuta North.
“While I acknowledge that issues of this nature will arise, because of the competitive nature of the primary electoral process, I however appeal to all to let go of these ill feelings and come together as one.
“We are all bound by our immeasurable love for Abeokuta North local government and we should be willing to bury our hatchets in the overall interest of our birthplace.” he said.
The candidate however reiterated his commitment to politics without bitterness, even as he promised to operate an open door approach in the administration of the local government.
“Need I remind you that I remain sworn to my ideals of progressive politics and will work to ensure the delivery of democracy dividends to Abeokuta North local government, but I need your total support to achieve same.” he added.
